It is not about self-conceit, nor does it support the attitudinal predisposition in masticating others’ thoughts and ideas then spitting them out without much consideration. A true individual voice resonates with others, familiar yet thought-provoking and challenges common knowledge by harnessing the power and beauty of languages. In this double issue of Coretan (March/April), voices stripped of restraints continue the vision of this publication which is to provide space for a multiplicity of ideas and thought to be articulated without fear. Kahlil Gibran noted that “in truth we talk only to ourselves, but sometimes we talk loud enough that others may hear us ” ideas and perceptive opinions are shared and exchanged as “the obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply.” A question worth repeating in our daily lives: “Had I filled myself with all that you know, what room should I have for all that you do not know?”
